Who We Are

Sage Brocklebank is the founder and co-director of FYA and a Vancouver/Los Angeles based actor (Psych). He started  the program while participating in the Landmark Education Leadership Program. “When I started out as a young actor I often felt stranded, and uncertain as to which actions to take. This program is created to provide guidance and structure for young artists. In addition to monthly meetings, proteges will be given the opportunity to accompany their mentors to rehearsals, to auditions and on set. This gives them a realistic view of their field.”

Patrick Sabongui is FYA's Co-Director. He is a film/TV actor (The Flash, Homeland, 300, Godzilla 2014), theatre actor ("Inside the Seed" world premiere, "Disgraced" Canadian premiere) and acting teacher (ACT Vancouver). Patrick has been with the program since its inception and stepped in to help Sage run the program in 2013. His aim is to create an environment where both mentors and mentees redefine what "success" means as an artist - and to work towards infusing everything they do as an actor with their own unique voice.

Fulfilling Young Artists is a mentorship program, where young actors are paired with experienced professionals. They meet once a month for six months and receive one-on-one coaching and guidance on leading a more fulfilling life as an artist. There are twenty young artists in the program. Mentors volunteer their time, and the program is free for participants after a 25$ application fee.

Mentors are hand-picked by Sage and Patrick to respond to the particular needs of each individual mentee.
